Welcome to Reefland
If your tank is only one week old, you have just started into your cycle. You may have some green algae start to show also, but this is only part of the whole cycle process. Was your live rock cured before you put it in there? Get that skimmer to work!!! That will help alot. As far as the lighting goes, what do you plan on keeping in your reef? That will help us to help you!!

Hello all. I am "kinda" new to this salty fish thing. I'd say about 2 1/2 years now. I had a 55 with FOWLR. Now I have a 180 and I just filled it up with water for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. I can't seem to figure out what I want to do with yet but I am going to do this slow and take my time. I still have the 55 set up so I can look at it and resist the temptation or rushing with the 180.

Anywho:

Name: James

From: Bpt., CT

Age: 36 D.O.B. 4/21/1968

Occupation: The Cops
Hobbies: Fish, motorcycles, computers, paintballin'

Look forward to learning many new things here...

Hello Brian. Looks like we have the same hobbies

I have a 1964 pontiac lemans convertible that I am restoring. And I mean me restoring. I have it stripped down to bare metal and have the first coat of primer on it know.
Good luck with the tank. And have fun with the car or cars.
