Here's one, I bought some live rock some years ago and i had a wrasse of some sort just appeared one day,i have described this fish to many poeple and no one knows what it is, it is all blue with a single yellow line across his jaw, and dark blue tips on his fins, he is about 3 yrs old and about 6 in long now, does anyone know what this is? I have had many offers on him but cant part with it. help! jwroll1

I have two tanks up and running and a third 90 gallon tank in the garage waiting for spousal approval.
First tank is 40 gallon reef. It is nine months old now and in pretty good shape. My corals are doing fine; growing nicely. THe tank complement is a bit overcrowded as the glass broke on my second tank (at one in the morning, of course). This tank is housing the survivors until I can complete the cycling of the replacement tank. IT si just about cycled in. So the tank currently is home to: Six Damsels; 5 Green Chromis and the one surviving Yellow from the broken tank; 2 Blue Neon Gobies 1 True Percula 1 six line wrasse 1 Dottyback 1 very large Yellow Leather Coral 4 species of mushrooms some zoos started with four polyps and now there are five one small Candy Cane colony one small rock full of Yellow Polyps that are multipling like rabbits The second tank, the replacement has 3 interesting yellow with black line damsel that are being used to cycle inthe tank. When It is cycled in I plan to transfer either the Dottyback or the wrasse to this tank. I havent't made up my mind yet. I plan to wait ans see what surprises the live rock have for me before I make up my mind. My wrasse loves to eat worms that occassionally hatch from the rock its home. If I have a large Bristleworm infestation in the new tank, the wrase will be moved. I live inLivermore, California. |

![]() Do you happen to have any pics of this fish? You could also browse the website www.fishbase.org under the wrasse family and see if you could find a picture of your fish. As far as your 220g leaking, why dont you start a thread in the DIY forum and we can talk about it there (instead of cluttering up this thread ) I have fixed a couple of tanks that leaked before, and I can probably help you out

Hello Everyone !
Just typing a short note to say hello. I`ve been involved with reef tanks for around 10 years now, currently have a small reef, 24 gallon flatback hex. I found this site while browsing and have been meaning to join for a while now. I figure, you never know it all. There`s always something to learn when it comes to salt water reefs ! I do have a question to ask and will post it as soon as I get a chance. Talk with all of you soon................. : )

New to this or any board with many reef questions
I had fish only in the past took a leave of absence for about 10 yrs. Now back at trying to build a reef.
I currently have a 125 G reef w/3 MH 175w & 2 actinic vho's 72". I also have a 29 G fish with LR and few critters in there. Glad to be aboard. Does this site have a spell check ? I will sure need it, if I can figure out where it is located.I need a bit of help with some lighting questions. Could anyone help point me to the correct area of this site for more info? Thanks, Andyzr Last edited by Andyzr; 04-12-2005 at 04:51 AM. |

Welcome Andy and IU!
All your lighting questions can be posted in the lighting forum and you can also search old threads in those forums for information. I am not a lighting expert at all, but there are plenty of folks on this board who have lots of experience with mutiple different kinds of lighting and can advise you well! ![]() |

cycling a 48"
Dear mates,
I've been cycling a 48" saltwater fish only tank since April-03 without fish but dead shrimp. Recently the Ammonia is 0;NO2 is something like 0-0.1111(can't tell the stupid color chart, but the NO3 is noticeable. Have not changed water yet. Any advice as to change of water as to get rid of the NO3 as one of my friend will give me soemthing like 10 fish to me by the end of May. |
