Protein Skimmer
Was wondering if any one could give me some advice. I got a 100 gallon set up, and just purchased a Turboflotor 1000 Multi. My currently problem is that it is overflowing. I have played with the adjustment knobs but no luck. I would appreciate any advice.

Charlie, thanks for your help in this matter. I really appreciated your response. Let me ask you another question. The only thing is that when I have it running it overflows, so the water is hitting the carpet. So in reality it aint running right now. So what do you think?

OK, never personally having used a turbofloater before, let me ask you this, what exactly do you mean by overflowing? Is it filling the collection cup up too fast, thus causing the overflow? Do you have the correct pump feeding it? If it is the same as my skimmer, if mine is overflowing, I need to turn the amount of air it is getting down. Do you have the outlet flow all the way open? Help me understand the problem a bit better

Charlie, thanks again. Well the problem is like you said. The collection cup is filling way to fast, I am currenlty using the pump that came with the skimmer. As for controlling the air, it has two control feeds (adjustment knobs) that I have messed with but no luck.

Can you get it to the point where you have no air at all?

I could but I would have to stuff/plug (sound absorber) a small hole or bend a air tube that leads to the pump itself, but I have noticed that this helps, I just have not pursued it becuase I'm not sure if this will damage the pump.

OK, go get yourself an air valve that you can slide the tubing into, that way you can control the amount of air that the skimmer is receiving. You probably noticed that when you bend the tubing, the skimmer lets off a little. I do believe that this will work. Let me know, would ya?
