Hello all,
Name: Todd
Age: 43
Occupation: Collison Parts at a Auto Dealer
Widowed since 2003
Kids: Josh 12, Sean 10, and Caitlin 5

I'm ultra-new to Reefs, my 65 gal. should be fully running this weekend finally. I have tons of freshwater experience, and my main passion is reptiles (read snakes- Green Tree Pythons in particular) and amphibians, however I've wanted a reef tank forever.

I'm also very into Environmental issues, and conservation, especially as it affects Green sea turtles.

Ok my turn!
Name: David Andersson
occupation: reg. Nurse (former EMT) and now work in psyciatrics (no free consultations please.. ) he he
Age: 31
country: Sweden
I´ve just started my reefcareer in february of this year but have allready gone through my first tank and upgraded. Otherwise I do alot of stuff; scale modelplanes, fishing, hunting music and my girlfriend. (no pun intended . .. )
here in sweden all men of 18 years of age go through a testprocess to see if you are fit to do militaryservice and when I was that age most of my friends all went. Thanks to that I can now volunteer for UN missions with the swedish armed forces and went to Kosovo a couple of years back. Thats where the pic is from. Have been asked to go to Afganistan next year but will see what happens. Gotta teatch my girl Emma to care for my tank if I go... Any questions? you´re welcome to contact me if you have any!

Find this forum really informative, got pointed here by leebca a couple of months ago and come back from time to time! Great site!

Thanks
Dave

hi all...been meaning to do this since i joined....

name: rachel
location: toledo, ohio
age:29
divorced with one son, jameson

i've been thinking about setting up a reef tank for awhile now and my plan was to set it up after i finished remodeling my living room and dining room...i figured that would give me a while to buy the equipment and build a sump. my plans were sped up a bit when a friend could no longer keep his tank and he gave me almost everything i needed...so his 30 gal tank became my 55 gal tank rather quickly. i work at a pet supply store with a rather large fish department. but i will be the first to admit i'm not the one to go with for answers to anything but the basic questions. my specialty is more dog/cat nutrition and health problems and reptile care, specifically plated lizards, iguanas, and aquatic turtles. growing up i think i had almost everything possible for a pet, including a rooster...and the trend continues now that i am an adult...most of my animals are rescues or taken in from people that can't care for them anymore. my parents are the same way...it seems like when we loose one animal we gain two or three more. thank god i work at the pet store and get a discount on food and supplies.

here's a picture of me and another of my son...that was his halloween costume this year...he was a garden gnome...and you can see in his eyes that he was hating me the whole time.

If it makes you feel any better, I got a year on ya!! Not all of us are young guys. I think that is what makes this place nice. There is an awful lot of experience on here.
