Neal ~
Only a very few hobbyists have been successful keeping a Moorish Idol for more than a year or so. They can be very difficult to feed in captivity. One of the members of Reef Central from the UK who has a very large tank (I believe it's more than 500 gallons) does have a couple of them that I believe he has had for well over a year now. But that is the exception. Most folks fail with these fish. As a matter of fact, I always wonder when looking at Moorish Idols in public aquaria just how long they have been there. I have heard reports that some public aquaria just keep replacing them as necessary to always have a few on exhibit. Probably a very bad choice unless you are a very experienced aquarist with at least a 300-gal tank.
