the anemone has a killer hot pink foot -that you cant see in the pic-but you can just make out the pink tips on the tentacles-its also alot bigger than it apears in the pic-i dont know who likes it more -me or my pair of gsm clowns

They look so happy!

How long have you had it and where did you pick it up at?

scott,
i recieved the anemone on saturday-part of an order from cquarium(the rest of the order is a post in itself-i wasnt entirely pleased).

davers,
my tank has been up for about 9 months now-but it contains the contents of my previous 2+ year old reef.i have two other bubble tips in the tank(one that split) but the clowns seem to prefer this one now -i guess cause its bigger.

on a side note-you see that burgandy /red "plant"(really dont know) growing near the base-does anyone know what it is?

ive got a bunch growing on that one rock-so far i cant id it in three years now

Nice anemone. My next anemone will be a rose quadricolor but not from Cquarium.

Hi Organic,
This particular Heteractis cr. was an rescue effort.I saw it in LFS when they just got the shippment and it was bleached awfull, pure white with purple tips. You probably seen them in the stores .I have it now for over a year and it completely recovered and regain it's tru color and triplled in size.I fed it every day for about 8mo. with salmon(guts and everything),some lance fish as well.It does not like shrimp or crill. I have a maroon clown hosting in it.Actualy she has two anemones to host in in this tank, another one beeng LTA.

Organic

I have had the BTA for about 3 weeks now. It displays the bubble tips near enough all the time. Sometime some of the tips disappear when the tenticles stretch out. The anenome always shrinks when the main halides go out (just leaving the actinics for 1 hour) and then fully inflates when the lights come back on. It is growing like crazy!

HTH

Mandy,
Your BTA is gorgeus. My BTA had buble tips for about 3-4 month but now they're gone.I'm not worried as I don't think it's indicative of the health but more on tank
specifics. What are your tank params?I've noticed same behavior in mine in terms of lighting .here's a pic of my bta and sailfin.

yeah the reason i asked about the bubble tips is they usually dont display them in captivity for very long-for whatever reason.

since we're showing off our anemones...

This is a blue haddoni carpet I have had for about 3 months now. It is about 14 inches in diameter.
