    ID? Guess? Acropora?

Has a hard skeleton and is a tan color with brown polyps. I realize that Acros are very hard to ID but if anyone can take an educated guess and have pictures of possibly that would help me. I have been told Acropora Kirstyae, and maybe Acropora Speciosa

    Scuba,

It's A. Granuulosa or A. Caroliniana. Both of these grow horizantaly more than verticaly. A. Kristaye grows the oter way.

That is a sweet growth pattern! Save me a frag if you take any.
I wonder if it would color up under higher k lamps? I assume its under sunlight now?

    Need some info

    scubadude:

Care to share with me where is this coral placed in your tank and overall caring issues?

I have a same piece and its not doing so well. I hate to see this beautiful coral go wasted. From it branch shape I can tell this coral needs moderate flow. However, I reposition it three times over the course of two months but still find the tip of this coral turning white. I have 250W AB 10K and 4 55W PC actinics.

I have strong flow in the upper portion of my tank and I have this coral placed in the middle of the tank. It receives fair flow and midium light. I have breaking off the dead branches, they are mostly on the back portion of the coral. The overall shape of this coral is kinda odd, it is like a softball that grows upper outward. The back portion used to be in a bit shady area so now I reposition it in the middle of my tank where the whole coral can be under even light spread. ANy input would be greatly appriciated.

Interesting piece, unusual branching patterns. Those are the kind of non colorful ones that are very cool to have.
