Got a new Tang.

I recently got another tang, a Zebrasom desjardini. everyone told me they would fight until one of them died. And they actually did fight, untill my Purple tang decided to give up. My tangs never fight anymore, I think they have accepted the presence of each other.Sometimes though if my PT feels treatend he Chases everything even my shrimp!

I´d LIke to post some pics but their to big!!!!
does anyone know how to size down pictures in iPhoto????

Thomas den norske!

I have a purple tang and a Red Sea sailfin tang together. They do spar but without damage to each other. I've had them together for 15 months. They need a large tank IMO as they both get over 8".

Regards,
Kevin

Hi Thomas!

I'm not sure how to adjust them in the prgram you mentioned however if you want to e-mail them to me I'd be happy to get them posted for you!

Kevin, I love the picture of the Sailfin with the Mandarin behind it!

Scott,
That crazy mandrin is always posturing with his reflection which is cool as it keeps him right up front You can see from the back view how fat he is. His name is hotdog because he's so big around. He's about 4" long.

Northman,
They are both 8-9". The purple I've had since 3/99 and the sailfin 11/01.

e rules the rooste, Ihave 2 clowns a bi color psuedo and an algea bleeny in that 120 gallon. I don't want anymore fish in it. It gives those guys plenty of space and decreases their stress level. Everyone has his own spot.

I also have the same three fish in my reef. Your fish are beautiful and healthy. Your purple tang is gorgeous, it is my personal favorite in the tang world next to a chevron!!!!

Thomas,
I feed them Formula1, Nori, freezedried plankton, and shrimp. My tank is setup so the entire back and one end of the tank is exposed to the light. I let the algae grow on this area (30 sq. ft.). This lets them behave as they would in nature, graze all day. Here's a picture of the back of my tank.

Regards,
Kevin

Gene,
Believe me it will get very aggressive in time . Usually when they reach about the 7-9" size. They will get to about 12-13" in a tank. They are very cool and active but will put almost any reef fish in its place.

Regards,
Kevin
