Will do, Scott... just as soon as the sand clears up I'll take some more photos. Our Cinnamon clown started "digging" around his h.crispa again and caused the tank to cloud up. Not really enough to disturb the corals or other inhabitants (I HOPE), but enough to mess up the photos for sure. Now we have about 6-7" of sand piled up at the front of the tank. Wish he would stop that! I have no clue as what he is trying to do, but suffice it to say it's not the first time.

Photos coming, I promise. Lights should be coming on any time now, so I'll see how the tank looks this morning. The Marshall Island T.Squamosa (4.5") was a little stressed from the shipping so I'm anxious to see him this morning.

    Thanks!

Thanks nvert, he really is a beaut, isn't he? The tank he is in is a 46gal. bowfront reef. We have 2 10,000K 96W PC's, a powerful AquaC skimmer runs out of a 10-15 gal. sump (live rock in the sump takes up some of the volume) powered by a Rio 2100. Wave motion is supplied by off/on timers on a couple of MaxiJet 400's. We have about 60 lbs. of live rock in the display tank, and several 50 lb. bags of Southdown sand (lost count).

    Parameters:
    temp-78-81
    ph-8.0
    salinity-.024-.026
nitrates run about .03 (not sure about the zeros, but you get the idea)
calcium runs around 380-400, but we've just bought a reactor so that should go up
all other params are normal (magnesium, etc.)

We also dose kalk as topoff. I think that about covers it. Do you have clams, nvert?

Okay, here's a photo of the 2 T. Squams. The Marshall Island Squam (center) is a bit stressed from his trip, but not half as much as yesterday. He turned 180 degrees since last night so I'm leaving him where ever he wants to go. At least for now.

Weird, but the Deresa "jumped" from his perch on the rock, so had to move him too. I'm worried about them moving around so much. Is that normal?

Connie,I wouldn't worry much about them jumping as they're probably acclimating to the lights and trying to find optimal location for them selfs I keep my derasas on the sand and they do turn once in a while but stay put.If it jumps again, just leave it on the sand.By the way,I have a similar derasa curtesy you know who Your clams are beautiful and I like to wish you best of luck with them and welcom to the wonderful world of clam keeping. Here's mine.Oops,I think I've post it before so let me try another pic of it.Not the best pic of him but you can still see the resemblance

Gene, thanks for posting your pic! I can't ever get enough eye candy. The resemblence of your Deresa IS amazing. And your tank is is beautiful... at least what I can see of it.

Thanks for the advice too. Last time I walked by the tank and the Deresa was back on the sand, I finally got the message. So he will have a place with the other two in front.

I saw a thread somewhere in which someone was talking about a clam that climbing VERTICALLY! That's right, said that he went UP the rocks. It's either that, or someone is playing a joke on the fellow. UNreal!

So is it even possible, Barry? Do you think the clam could use his foot to climb UP?

By the way... the "new kids on the block" all look wonderful. The M.I. Squam looks totally cool. Looks as though he may have recovered from his shock. I know that you said that some clams may gap for a few days due to the stress of shipping, and completely recover but I was still more than a little nervous about it. Call it clam newbie-itis. (Hey, I think I just invented a new word, LOL!)

Barry,I've got it I do believe that a small clam like that can get up there.Maybe I'm crazy, but I have to believe CaptainClam.I had a small gold maxima before and it traveled alot and once I found it up on the rock when I know I put him on sand the night before.
It wasn't three inches but up nonethe less.
    Kind regards,

    Gene.
