    Cool to much light

    I just upgraded my lighting to metal halide with 2-400w AB lights from 870w of VHO ligthing how can I tell if my calms are not ajusting to the new lights or if I'm hurting them with to much light. all clams are crocea and maximas with 1 hippopus calm in a sps tank

    If they are trying to move away from the light or kicking themself on the their side, that normally means they don't like that bight light.

    Don't know how long since you changed the lighting but it is always better to acclimate them over a few weeks, You can do this a few ways.

    1. Place some shields over the tank where they they are and slowly remove the shields.

    2. Place lights on a few hours a day and then over a period of time, increase your light period.
