18" T. gigas
As requested, here are some pics of the 18" T. gigas I brought in per the request of the Shedd Aquarium here in Chicago. The pics make the clam look an awful lot smaller than it is in person.

Neat! Too big for a 150 gallon tank. I'm looking for smaller ones - I think 7-8 inch would be ideal.
Do you come across T. gigas with other color, say blue? Having seen T. maxima and T. corcea, I am not a big fan of a brown/orange color. I've seen pictures of blue T. gigas - are they really that difficult to obtain? |

Wow JT! What an amazing clam!
If only you got him in in april or may after I move into our new house (and new tank!), I'd drive out there personally to pick him up from Philadelphia, PA!! Well, hopefully he's not one of a kind! ![]() Keep me in mind for the future!! PS: My gigas has grown about 1/2" since I've had him! Woo hoo!!! Bill |
