So now that you caught the mangy varmit what are your plans? frikasee? hard boil? I'd suggest a fresh squeeze of lemon... actually to tell you the truth I know a bunch of people who would love to take the little sucker off your hands.

Right now I have him in the bottom of a pitcher with about 2" of water. I am trying to save him until I get off work tomorrow so I can take him to my LFS for some credit. If anybody in the Chicago area would like to have him and will come and get him I will sell him for $30. If interested Email me at christopher.jackson@wcg.com.

He looks pretty cool... I'd buy him from you but $30 + next day shipping would break me right now.

With the time I wasted and money I spent and fish I lost trying to catch this pest I feel $30 is a resonable price...(I'm hard up for some cash) Seriously though 10 bucks for the trap, 3 eaten fish, countless snailsand blue leg hermits = $100+! Not to mention the months it has taken me to catch this guy. All you old reefland ole' timers know what I'm talking about...

You could put him back in the tank then he'd be worth $60 when you got him back out again!

Can you not put him in your sump to reign over all the other desolates banished from the main tank?

If you are gonna flush, why not just offer him up for less of a fee? Im in Chicago and I'm sure I'd take him, but I can buy a Peacock Mantis for around $23. But I'm probably too late I assume.

I second giving him away. Why kill him off when someone else will happily take him?

Heck I give away Caulerpa like crazy to people in my city just to get the chance to meet fellow reefers.

    Sorry guys. RIP...
I looked on the BB before I flushed. Nothing new was posted after I mentioned the LFS didn't want him. I didn't figure on him lasting much longer anyway since all I had him in was about 2" of water with no circulation. I would have given him away though, I was just excited last night because I caught him and wanted some extra "free" cash to go out and buy a new fish for the tank.

I heard those suckers can break a tank if they wanted to. Never actually seen it, but the "urban legend" lives on.... I would've flushed him too....

Yeah I read that the claw type thing that flips out has the velocity of a 22 caliber! Before I flushed him I was messing with him with a 20" alum rod and the first time he really hit it made me jump After that I was a firm Thumb Splitter believer. :P The scary part is that when I received all my LR and was taking it out of the bags/boxes and in the tank he jumped out of one of the rocks and into a box. I scooped him up in my hand and put it in the tank! Thank god I got lucky!
