Our 100gRR website and Bora Bora, Moorea honeymoon page
Hey everybody,
I added some recent pictures to our 100gRR webpage. Added some nice macro shots too. http://bellsouthpwp.net/l/o/loguell/Layne_and_Liem.html And.....I finally completed our Honeymoon in Bora Bora and Moorea webpage. Yeah..... we went there in 4-27-00 (hehe)...but... it's done now. It has some very nice background pictures. The pictures were originally shot 1600x1200 pixels....so, if you'd like a big one for your background.... just shoot me and email and I'll send it to you. layne and liem |

Yeah a buddy I work with went there on their honeymoon too. He said their bungelow (however you spell it) had a table with a glass top that you could see thru to the water. Seems like he said he could feed fish from there too. I would love to go there. He really like the 3rd world charm of the place.

That's exactly right. There was a glass top coffee table in the middle of the bungalow and you could flip it open. They also had a light switch on the table too..... for night viewing. We always had bread in our room and would feed them.
These bungalows had AC .... although it wasn't really necessary ...but, they did have a little hotter weather than usual while we were there (last week in April and 1st in May). So, it worked out. Most of the restuarants were all open to the outside. I think the high temp in the day was 85 or 88 degree F. Lows in the 70's. Bora Bora Lagoon Resort This resort was on a motu (atoll) off the main island. They had a boat that left every 15 minutes to the main town of Vaitape. So, never a problem getting to and from the resort and town. This resort was expensive. I think it was around $750 per night. Beautiful bungalows, landscape, nightly entertainment and guest service and activities. The beach here wasn't that great. Bungalows mostly taking up the view. The snorkeling was ok...but, a snorkeling tour would be the best way to go. We rented an electric car and drove to the public beach and that was a nice beach. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sofitel Ia Ora Resort on Moorea Now this was a great resort. Less expensive and certainly better than the Bora Bora Lagoon resort. I think it was around $600 or $650 a night. Awesome beach joining into the public beach. Good snorkeling. Fantastic entertainment. The pool was right on/above the beach ...so, nice swimming overlooking the water and the island of Tahiti. The restuarant wasn't over priced. Very good breakfast. Both of the resorts had the glass top coffee table, sun deck and swimming dock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's funny that all my life (lived in Saudia Arabia by the Red Sea.. Dad was in the Corps of Engineers).... and even when I met my wife.... we always went to the beach and loved being there..... AND only recently (1 year ago) did I finally get a saltwater aquarium and then a reef aquarium. It's a wonder that I never thought about it before. I'm sure that if we go visit my wife's brother in Big Pine Key, FL again ...or go to some nice snorkeling / diving place....the experience will be unmeasureable in joy. As I'll kinda have an idea of what's going on in the reefs. We haven't been anywhere yet since we got our reef tank..but, I can't wait till we do. |
