Caught in The Act

I take so many pictures that come out poorly I thought I would post a couple that came out pretty good (IMHO). Notice the egg laying tube on the female. This appears the day before she lays her eggs.

Regards,
Kevin

Kevin

I looked in my tank after a couple of hours after lights out and found that my clown pair eggs had released and there were tons of tiny clownfish babies swimming around the tank ... Of course I have no means to raise them. After many many many spawnings, this is one of the very few times I have actually seen the swimming frye ....

tech1,
If you buy (like I did) 2 small clowns they will both be males. In a couple of months one will begin to grow larger and turn into a female. you can also buy a very large one and a very small one and be pretty sure you have a male and female. The females are at least twice the size of the males. If there are 10 together they will all be males with only 1 female. If something happens to the female (death or runs off to Vegas with her boyfriend ) one of the males will turn into a female.

Regards,
Kevin

For Ocellaris, any two will do, but if you can try to get a one larger than the other. Ocellaris are very docile and will not really harm each other. It will be a while for them to mature and spawn.
