Need Help for Brother in N.C.

As most of you know, many in North Carolina have been without power for the past 2 days.
I just talked to my brother and he was without power for 36 hours. His water temp dropped to 59degrees!!
Good news is he has power again.
He has a 120gal with a 30gal sump.
He has 2 damsels, 1 yellow tang, 1 six line wrasse, live rock(120lbs), small amount of Xenia, 3 montipora digitata, 1 toadstool, Green star polyps, 7 zooanthid colonies, 7 acroporas, refugium, numerous snails amongst other critters and a DSB.

His water temp is now 77deg, he has replaced his carbon and is preparing for water changes and starting his skimmer back up.
His Damsels are doing ok, his tang is pacing back and forth along the back of his tank(this is worrying him), the wrasse is MIA.
Xenia is slumped over and looks lifeless except that it appears to be shedding its outer layer of skin.
1 Montipora is "sliming" heavily.
Green star polyps are closed up.
Toadstool is slumped over(which it has done before)
A couple of polyps on the Acropora are opening up.
Some of the Zooanthids are opening up.
Tanks has a bad odor.

Overall he is suprised by the amount of life he is seeing. (Actually he is ecstatic)

Any suggestions as to what else he can do?
He is asking for your help.
He is preparing to do water changes once his ro/di water warms up and is going to test his params..

Please offer any suggestions as to what else to do, I am sure he is not the only one in this predicament. Unfortunately, his access to the internet is currently down. Therefore I am sending this on behalf of him.

I apologize for the long post. And I did not see this topic already started.
My brother thanks all of you for your help and your thoughts.

Mike

I would yank all the zenia out since it is probably dead and wipe out everything else in the tank if it is. The wrasse I wouldnt worry about since they are pretty small if it is dead it wont have to much of a inpact on water quality. Keep a very close eye on the toad stool and if it starts to come apart pull it out also.
Run lots of carbon and do several around 20-40 gallon water changes for 2-3 days. Basicaly start pulling anything that out that is strting to die.

Thanks Mike! I am Mike's brother from North Carolina. Overall, we were very fortunate to get our power back yesterday. There are still many without power.

In terms of my tank:
- REMOVED - Green Montipora Digitata shed lots of its tissue after sliming for a while.
- PARTIALLY REMOVED - Xenia still appears lifeless. 4 of the 6 stalks have been removed.
- Zooanthids seems like they made it.
- Other SPS corals (4 acropora and 3 other montipora) it is hard to tell. Haven't seen very many polyps.
- Toadstool still slumped over
- Damsels enjoying life again
- Tang seems to be doing better. Not just pacing back and forth anymore. Swiming all around now.

Tendar - Thanks for the reply. I will try to scrape the other xenia stalks off the live rock today. The toadstool hasn't broken up yet, but I will keep an eye on it.

My plan is to continue doing daily major water changes for a while, change carbon every 2 to 3 days, and remove any dead fish/corals/others. Any other tips?

1) Does anyone think the remaining Xenia will come back? How about the toadstool? How long should I give them?
2) In terms of the SPS corals, I was going to leave them unless I started seeing major tissue loss. Does this sound right?

Thanks for your help,

Jim

Check your water parameters once daily, if not twice. It's likely that you've also lost creatures which are less visible, those dwelling in the DSB and LR, and you must be very vigilent for products of their decomposition fouling your water quality.

I'd seriously recommend tossing out anything that hasn't recovered by now.

YOu can always give it the smell test on the leather and zenia.
If they bad like rot pull it they are dead.
My thoughts anyway.
