Need a reasonable $50 microscope?
This thing is nominally a toy, but it is a USB microscope that hooks up to your computer (Windows or Mac OS X v. 10.2.x) and you can take photos or movies with it. It is really quite remarkable. I just bought two. One for the kids, and one for me.
Apparently people are also using the USB camera on their more high-quality microscopes and it works quite well. Check it out. http://microscopy.fsu.edu/optics/int...iew/index.html http://microscopy.fsu.edu/optics/intelplay/index.html http://www.playdigitalblue.com/products/qx3/main |

I paid $50 each. It listed for $99 originally so I thought that was a good deal. $30!! Darn. That'll learn me to spend more time reading these boards.

That one is now $50 as well. I guess there is seasonal pricing. Still thought it is remarkable that you can get this for $50. A good 3 button optical mouse costs almost that.
