New blue T. maxima

This is my new blue T. maxima I got a couple of days ago. It has been at the LFS for a few months. I traded a big chunk of A. yongei for it for their display tank.

Regards,
Kevin

Here is a picture of the group of them. Notice the other blue T. maxima in the center of the group. It will appear green when viewed from above but the new clam stays blue.

Regards,
Kevin

And blow that sand off your clams

A close-up of the new one.

Regards,
Kevin
PS: I hope the file size isn't too irritating for the dialup users (like me)

Kevin,

Here is a Crocra from the top and the same one from looking through the glass.

Through the glass. These are no longer here, just wanted to share how different they can look. No doubt they look better viewed from the top. I think that is why Peter has the tank that he has.

Wow! That's quite the difference. Kinda makes me want to build a special clam tank that is shallow and low so you can always view from the top. The top edge of my main display is 6' 1" so the only time I can look in from the top is when I'm on a ladder.

Regards,
Kevin
PS: I have seen a few T. crocea clams that are bright green when viewed from the front though.

Kevin,

You are correct about the Crocea's. I have had some that are kinda blue from the top but have a greenish tint through the glass. Kind of opposite from the Maxima
