They look sweet zhenya. I am getting excited to try my first crocea. My new tank setup will have either 2 400W radiums or 3 250W HQI's. I figure either will be great for a crocea. The new tank is going to be clam heaven. Now if I could just find a nice red BTA to go with them...

Is that maxima black or is that just the picture? Now I'm really going to be jealous.

Thanks Captain and no,it's not black,it's just a picture. It's actualy blue with some green if you look from the top.Your new set up will be clam heaven indeed.I think either light set up will be great. Crocea or any other clam you might think of.Now,regarding that rose E.quadricolor,if doc will not take it,it's yours it's growing like mad and I'm quickly running out of room. Here's what they look like(anemones) today.

They are certainly beautiful. They look remarkably different for being clones. The whole cloning process is rather amazing if you think about it. Just let me know if it gets too big I have plenty of room for it in the tank with my green BTA. It will obviously go in the new tank once that is done but I want it to run for a few months before I add anything terribly important like clams or anemones.

How many clams do you have now? I also wonder what lighting that crocea is under? Have you kept crocea's before? That is the only type of clam I don't have because of my VHO lighting. I am really excited to be able to get some more of Barry's clams. I'll have to make him find me a really sweet crocea. As usual, you tank looks terrific.

Thanks Cap'n
I have 9 clams now and I did have a crocea before but it did not last long(1mo).This crocea is under 250mh about 12-14" from the bulbs.
You right about the cloning process,it was amaizing when it happen. They do look a bit different shade but they're still one and the same. The clone already managed to vaporize some frags of montipora that I made Oh well...

I'm sure Barry will find you a beautiful crocea if you'll be patient and I see that you are.I hope to see some pix of the new tank one day

I know this is a bit off topic, but can you tell which is the clone and which is the original? I'm really hoping my green BTA will split so I can see the whole process.

They just split in two. When my split they looks identicle. Other people reported sometime one is bigger than the other.

Captain,
Like Minh said, they just split in two.Mine looked same size just a bit different shade of rose .FWIW,the one on the bottom is the original anemone and the one on the top is the clone. It is the same animal and not different in any way,in my case just a bit lighter.I hope it'll split again so I can send you one

Gene,
9 Clams! That's way too many for your tank. You had better send me about half of them right away! That first one is a real gem.

Regards,
Kevin

I forgot to say that it's 9 clams between two tanks .If they grow to big I'll be sure to send them to you Your tank is big enough to house many many clams
I really like that maxima as well, but I have to say that this crocea viewed from the top is really very pretty.

It helps to be tall Barry I don't need a ladder.

Captain,be patient .Once your new tank is ready you will get all of them from Barry, just leave some for the rest of us
I've been shmoozing my wife for a while now to OK my dream clam tank.So far I weathered couple of storms and remarks about my age and something along the lines of loosing my mind.I'm not giving up yet though, you never know when she might change her mind
