too much calcium?

Is there such a thing as calcium poisoning? My calcium had been real low, so I thought, and began dripping kalkwasser almost daily for the past month or more. Every time I'd test, there was no raise in calcium. So finally my tester ran out and I bought a new (different brand) tester. This morning both tanks are testing so high that I can't get the stuff to change color at all, even after adding 30 drops! All the fish and corals seem fine, the pH is 8.2. I don't know what the dkh is, but it was fine a month ago.

So I'm just curious. I'm going to have my lfs test again for me today and put my kalkwasser paraphenalia away.

Go buy a Salifert Calcium test kit. It tests from 0 to 1000 ppm (although... you might have a problem if it's 1000 =)

Calcium levels in natural seawater range from 380 to 480 mg/L depending on location. In our aquariums calcium levels should be maintained between 350 and 500 mg/L Reef Aquarium Vol. 1(pg. 234) by Delbeek and Sprung
Although... I have no experience with very high Ca levels (mine is 520 ppm)... i've heard that if it gets too high... it could look like a snow storm in your tank (precipitants). Also... I believe that your alkalinity would be very low.
