Question Tuning/modifying Queen turbo skimmer

hi my name is Brendan, im a 15 year old kid who loves reefs and fish, and skateboarding.
i have my first tank a 55 gallon FOWLR with no sump that i plan on putting in, in the future and upgrading my 5 NO flouros for something better so i can have a reef tank. Right now im in the study stages, never for school work only for the fish,
Right to my topic,
I have a queen turbo skimmer model ts-2000 and it is powered by a atman 104 which is a 2000 litre per hour pump that sits inside my tank with a 1.5 foot tube going from it into my skimmer hanging on the outside of my tank.
this skimmer is a co current skimmer with the pump making a kind of tornado of bubbles rising up to the riser. the air gets introduced at the point same point as the water. Most skimmers i have seen are chocked with micro bubbles, the queen skimmer doesnt have as much bubbles as i would like it to which leads me to beleive this is the main problem with colecting waste. i have tried putting a bioball or air diffuser over the air intake to limit air but make smaller bubbles, this failed. I have also tried adding a wooden diffuser to the bottom of the skimmer which made more bubbles but only very wet foam,
ive tried tuning the skimmer endlessly for ages scince ive had it and the most i can get is 250 ml in about 4 or 5 days which is inefficient. the skimmate is watery and very dark also,
so my question is are there any people out there that have used this skimmer and had it collect good skimmate amounts (ive heard of people collecting thick sludge from this skimmer before)
if so how did you tune it and did you have to modify it in any way, also the pump size would be much appreciated.
thanks a heap I look foward to sharing my experience with you all on this board.
Brendan,
TIA

Hi Brendan,
have you seen the same model skimmer you are using packed with air bubbles on other set ups? could you post a picture or two of the skimmer you are using set up on your tank?

It could be the nature of that particular skimmer, but a few pictures would help everyone else maybe determine a problem. I am not (I doubt many US'ers are) familiar with that skimmer. Pictures worth a 1000 words

Maybe if you tried these 2 "mods"

Pump Venturi

Then block the other venturi inlet on the skimmer with tape or something... You should get very fine bubbles and HOPEFULLY alot more skimmate.
