montepora-no- lets not...or minh will post a pic of his completely OBESE PBT and make us look like we abuse our fish

how long have you had the fish-over a year -right?

and northman -NO my experience is definitely not opposite....these fish do tend to do poorly in captivity...id say-about 95% of the specimens i have personally seen -including stores and peoples tanks-are on the way out.

i searched for awhile to find this fish -i bought him directly out of one of my lfs's quarantine tanks the day after he came in.

he was in perfect shape ,and had a calm yet alert attitude-and i just knew he was the one-the second/third best looking pbt i had seen .

i put him right into my display and made sure to feed HEAVILY.3-4 feedings a day and a constant supply of nori-which he started pecking at the second day.the third day he started on the spirulina flakes and hes been hooked ever since-it looked like he was eating candy i swear to god

he was a big time pacer for the first four months..but i just kept filling him up with food -a constant supply of nori and as many feedings as i was around to do...he was really plumping up and only a couple times showed a couple spots of ich...but just kept pacing.
....

well since then, now at eight months -the pacing has steadily declined and now its practically non existent.once in a while ill catch him doing it right before the actinics go off...im not sure but i feel that soon it will be gone altogether.he eats from my hand and doesnt hide when im working in the tank anymore-sometimes i can even pet him.

i feel that the constant supply of food is very helpfull in making tangs feel secure-these fish eat all day long -and i have to beleive they know when there is no food/the enviroment isnt safe and its time to move on.........

so if you would like to get a powder blue -i reccomend that you start with a fat /healthy specimen-dont let it linger in the lfs-put it directly in a matured tank and feed the hell out of it.a cosnstant supply of nori is key -at least i feel it has been with my fish(sheesh can i stress that enough? ).

I got my PBT for about 4 years now. I had another one for about two years and I lost that one due to the power outtage .

I feed my lots of flake and nori. I also feed her garlic, frozen food with selcon. Ich comes and go but never cause anything serious. She has minor Ich right now but she is eatting like carzy.

She is a tough little cookie as sometimes, she will give the Emperator in the tank a bit hard time
