Anyone ever try this, says it is reef safe, I want to use it in my one tank with aiptasia and button polyps and a maroon clown, 4 striped damsel, and un-named Tang (lopezi or vlamingii). The tang so far seems to have Odinium parasite bad and the other I am not really sure of since the are always on the other side of the Live Rock. I have had all the fish in the tank for a long time so I can only assume that I got the parasite from some caulerpa I took from my other tank as that is all I have added to the tank for a long time. The product says it increases the fishes slime so the parasite drops off then the products works on the parasite. Just wondering if this product works or if I need to get the big guy out of there and into something else, I just want to eliminate the problem from the fish and the tank at the same time.
Here is what is says on the bottle Stop Parasites increases the natural slime coat, which in turn shed off any form of parasites attached to the fish. When the parasites shed off they either go out thru your protein skimmer or other filter media. This is what makes our product unique; there are no carcinogenic dyes or harmful chemicals. (all natural) Thanks

I've not tried that product, but it may work OK for most fish. However, tangs do not produce much slime regardless, which is one reason they are so ich/parasite prone. So I doubt that a slime increaser will help that much. Same goes for garlic, which also is supposed to help the fish produce more slime, as well as secreting a chemical disliked by the parasite.I'm using Garlic Extreme right now but my foxface and hippo tang still have a lot of ich spots. The sailfin tang is clean tho.
I use Kick-ich or No-ich (same formula), which is reef safe. It prevents the free floating parasite fromite from completing its life cycle and re-attaching to the fish. It does not clear up the ich in a couple of days like a medication (not reef safe) would, but after a cycle of it, or sometimes two cycles if the problem is bad or you have a more tenacious variety of ich. If your fish do indeed have odinium, increasing slime won't work anyway. That's a deadly parasite that can wipe out your population in short order. I suspect the spots you're seeing is a variety of ich that shows up in tiny spots instead of the larger dotty spots. Let's hope so. If you still think it's odinium, remove the fish to a q-tank and medicate appropriately. Then leave your reef tank fish free for at least 2 months.
