Yellow Figi Leather

Here is a picture I took this morning of my first frag from my yellow Figi leather. It's my favorite soft coral. I was afraid to cut it but after this frag took off I now have made 2 more just like it.

Regards,
Kevin

Jeff,
I used a pair of sissors and just lopped off one of the lobes. The cut edge of the parent colony quickly healed over in a few days. I didn't take pictures right when I did it.

Regards,
Kevin

Yours looks great.

Where did you buy it from? LFS /mailorder? I'm looking for one.

I bought it from the LFS Feb. 2001. I have 2 more frags growing out (one is sold).

Regards,
Kevin

What kind of lighting are you using?

This is one soft coral that likes pretty high lighting. I originally kept it under 175W Halides with VHO's 10-12" below the surface. Now it and the frags are under 400W halides with VHO's. I've heard they often turn brownish color under lower lighting. Mine is very bright yellow.

Regards,
Kevin
