pavona drop

I picked up a new pavona today at the LFS, but when the girl behind the counter was bagging my stuff up, the whole bag slipped off teh counter. It looked ok in the store (after being quapruple bagged it's sorta hard to see), but when I got it home and in my tank, there are two spots where it chipped. On both, like maybe a quarter of an inch of the coral broke off. I am thinking it should heal up fine, I think they are pretty hardy corals (right?), but I wanted to check and see if there is anything I can do. I was thinking maybe a little Lugol's swab or something...any suggestions?

Thanks,
Evangeline

Nothing required. Just put it out of really intense light and give it moderate water flow. It should quickly heal over in a week or so. Sometimes a small area of algae will grow on the exposed skeleton but a healthy coral will usually kill it off over time (will take more than a week for this). You can use a toothbrush to get the algae off and this will help the coral to have the advantage.

HTH,
Kevin
