Rocky,
Look in Vol. 1 pg. 325 plate #6 it shows a A. gemmifera on the left and a A. humilis on the right side by side. Tell me what you think. Regards, Kevin

Rocky,
Read pg. 324 under characters for A. gemmifera: "Radial corallites are of two sizes usually in rows". Now that makes it clear as mud! ![]() It's got such good polyp extension how can you tell if they are aligned or if the radial corallites increase in length towards the branch bases LOL ![]() Cheers, Kevin

MDM,
Im sure we can do a trade w/as much as you have Just give me some time to let some of my babys grow up.....The more and more I see pics of your setup the more I want to leave my reef alone and let it grow out :POR, Thanx for the kudos My fishies are in there....but the only one that isnt camera shy is my lawnmower blennyKevin Dude your a trip! You are just making me realize how much more I love my Veron books! I spent almost an hour the other nite analyzing the book trying to verify that piece. I am very glad you pointed out the different growth patterns however Im still thinking that piece is closer to Humulis, the reason I say that is because the scutes (i guess thats the right verbage....the skeletal part just underneath the polyps) are much more pronounced and raised on the gemmifera than the humulis .....and dont ask me to send you a piece so you can analyze it either :P Gene LOL your gonna love this one (so will Kevin im sure) but I think your piece is also possibly Humulis Keep in mind guys this is purely speculation on my behalf. Also Gene I was looking in Verons book for your piece and there are quite a few possibilities but its really hard unless you have the piece there and analyze the coral really good in real life with TONS of pics that it could possibly match through this book. |

Rocky,
LMAO! Just so you know I also think your piece could be A. humulis maybe Don't send anything to Chuck I've seen his tank just last month and I can assure you he has no room. You wouldn't put a tang in a 10 gal nano would you Send them to me instead!Gene, As Rocky says it's so darn hard to tell but here's my guess ![]() A. samoensis pg. 323. Regards, Kevin

Rocky and Kevin,Thanks
I'm going to take frags of it in a month or so and could send it to you so you could look at it and maybe pinpoint to the species I wish I could take a good pic of the crab that lives in this colony... PS.My wife ordered me Verons trilogy but it's still not here ![]()
