Our Deresa has been looking stressed lately. I just noticed a small aptasia on the upper most edge of the shell, where the mantle hangs over. We haven't had any aptasia in a while...but here one is now.
I was thinking about kalk pasteing the aptasia tonight after the clam mostly closes. Figure less chance for mantel contact with the kalk.
I have a few questions concerning this...
Do you think that this could be the cause of the stress? I know aptasia can lay pretty big stings on some corals.
Does this sound like the right method of aptasia removal in this situation?
Can I take the clam out of the water for a minute or less so I can get a better bead on the sucker?
Our lights go out in about an hour. Any comments or ideas to get this bugger off the clam is very, very welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Oh yea, our water parameters are fine. cal-380, alk 10.5, nitrates 10-15.
