    Detaching clams abyssil fibers

ok, i perched my T. maxima ontop
of a rock so it would be closer to the
MH light, well, it appears that it doesn't
like the currents there and has moved
    perpendicular to the water surface--
is sitting sideways, not getting any
    light..

So, i'd like to reposition it. how do ya
get it to detach w/out hurting it. i'm
afraid that it won't do well if it's mantle
    isn't exposed to the light..

    many thanks!!
    With the internet, i can
    waste time 2X as fast!!

Try to cut the threads closest to the rock and not the byssal . You may have to lean him over a little at a time to do this.

How big is the rock that he is on? If not too large you might trying moving the rock or reposition the current.
