I've read some of the archives at reef central and there seems to be a concern about the weight stress on a 55 gal tank. Are any of you running one and what say you?

I would imagine that the weight of any HOT unit that holds any decent amount of water could be stressful on the tank itself. You could eliminate the possible stress by building a simple 2x4 stand under it to support it. For long term, I think I would support it somehow.
Regards,
I've got one on the back of an Oceanic 30 long. Not too concerned about tank stress. Weight is spread over four points on tank top trim which helps to evenly disperse weight on glass. Also my refugium rests against a wall behind the tank so the refugium weight cannot pull out from the tank - just straight down.
