How's that for an "old" Mavica
I don't know why you want to buy a nikon camera when you can take macros like that.Great picture Kevin

PS.Kevin,do you mind if I email you a pic of an algae that I have.Rocky here planted a seed in my mind that it could be a Dictyota and I have nightmares already

Hi Gene,
If I could only show you what I coud do with a Nikon 995 or 5000
Mail away I have a pretty big collection of macro algae and an even bigger reference collection.

i actualy got it id'd as Caulerpa serrulata(I started a thread about it in another forum ),thanks god.I will have to manualy remove it as much as I can
Yes,I believe you could do wonders with those cameras,but your pics are great as they are with your Mavica

That type of algae is not too bad. It's a slow to medium grower. It grips the rockwork kind of hard though. I have never seen any type of fish eat it with any vigor. The best control is hand picking IME (which I need to get doing ).

Very true Kevin,none of my herbivores touch this stuff.I guess they have to be starving to graze it,wich in my case is never to happen
I hoped my rabbitfish would take a liking to it but no luck. While lights are out I have a good chance to prune it without getting "love" bites from the Clarkii
