what kind of snails?
Like I said in my previous post, my 55 gal reef is teeming with pods. And when I look in at night there are hundreds of tiny snails, the larger ones are about half the size of a pea. They are whitish with broken brown stripes. They cover some rocks and glass, especially the back wall where I don't clean. Also, I don't see many on the rocks that have a lot of algae--I don't know if that means anything. I don't see them at all during the day.
I'm curious as to what kind of snails these are. I hope they're not harmful, as there are way too many to irradicate without vastly disturbing the whole system.

im not sure what they are called -but they are quite common and some of the best algea control you can have.
they multiply prolfifically.as a general rule-if its on the glass its probably an algea eater. hmm other than some flatworms -and ive had nudibranches show up that werent and hmmm- well maybe not all the time but it works for me ![]() |
