Back In The Game

After healing from injuries sustained from devastating personal losses, we are proud to announce the soon to be open Arizona Coral Farm. We will be transplanting farmed corals to various locations for reef reconstruction, growing corals for pharmaceutical researchers, and shipping corals and fragments to all of you as well! (At a small price, of course)....We appreciate our true friends in this business like Barry of Clams Direct. His unrelenting encouragement has seen me through some hard times and he will apreciate seeing us come out swinging. Thanks for reading this and please feel free to ask any questions of me. All information is shared except that involving contracts

Ok ....hehe
How do you like natural sunlight versus MH's as far as growth rates and coloring of corals? What corals are you specifically targeting for medicinal purposes? How are you cooling your tanks? How many gallons is your farm? Are you gonna have species tanks? Water sources? Wells? Are you shading the sun any if you are using natural sunlight?

Talking Thanks

Thanks for your welcomes, and kindness, everyone. I have had quite the character building experience over the last several months and it is high time to move forward!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, some answers about our operation:

We established a 200 gallon test system a few months ago. This system is not enclosed. We cover it in anticipation of rain....sometimes. Test SPS includes a bunch of brown uglies that are no longer brown uglies! Natural unfiltered sunlight is awesome.
We need high E skimming. Dust contamination is the primary problem where we are as it can get quite windy.
Due to extremely low humidity, evaporation is trouble. We had to put up a 50 gallon RO/DI reserve and we need MUCH more when the 2 1500 gallon systems get salted.
All this has not been nearly as technical or expensive to set up compared to my last operation. Since we are able to have considerably more liquid habitat at considerably less costs, we should be able to compete at all levels in the market of farm raised SPS.
Research done thus far has provided us with a wealth of different ideas to meet the demands of a huge market outside the hobby trade!
**Our facility is not open to the public but we are working on putting a retail operation up in the next year.
I am sooooooooo damn excited about this I can't stand it. Our limiting factor right now is money.....but this is not a new hurdle

I will try to post periodically here on the latest problems, solutions, and successes. Seems I'm not well thought of on another board....Perhaps because I can't deal with politics in the hobby.....I can, but I won't
