New Ocellaris won't swim with lamp on top.
I've got a new Ocellaris clown (LFS had them marked as tank raised) that won't swim any more than he has to and only at the surface if my lighting canopy is on top of the tank. If I remove the light and prop it up so it comes in through the side glass he's happy as can be and swims all over the place.
The fish has been in the tank for a week and a few days now. I left the light standing on the side of the tank all weekend and tried putting it back on top today and he slowly quit swimming over a period of a few hours. I moved it back down to the side and he was all over the place again swimming here and there. With the light on top he will almost never change depth. He will only swim at the surface. Tank is a 7 gallon bowfront with a 32 Watt PC light. |
