Pump for 10 Gallon Nano Tank!?!
Hi folks. Well after starting two tanks....I'm ready to tackle a new one. I'm thinking a standard 10 gallon glass nano tank.
Here's the specs I've come up with so far. I really don't have the time to build a hood, etc so I'm probably going to order one. Tank specs: 10 gallon standard from PetCo (yeah i know i know....) 50 Watt Heater Softies eventually, zoanthids, etc. 2x32 Watt PC's from http://www.ahsupply.com with the hood I'll use the aragonite sand and seed it from my 25 gallon and 75 gallon. THe only question I have right now, is what pump should I use for water movement inside the tank?? I was thinking one of those micro jets, but I'm not sure if they will give enough flow. I really don't want to be putting in a large MaxiJet in there since it will not "look" great and might be too much flow. My 25 gallon is doing great right now. Rocky if you're reading this, I'll post up some pics of some of the frags that you sent. They have all grown! Thanks again, Elmo |

When I had my 10 setup at work I had a rio 50 in the back ppointed towards the front top and worked pretty well. I also ran a prizm skimmer so with the 2 I had decent flow through out the tank but not blowing everything around.

The normal web page is www.customaquatics.com they're having problems with their ISP today and that's the temporary redirect. Aquaglobe models. They use a external power transformer and have a swivel nozel. I have two of them now, I bought the bigger one and had to restrict the outlet as much as possible to keep things under control. I just bought the lower powered one in hopes of being able to move more water volume as opposed to the higher pressure I think I end up with from the setup with the more powerful pump. |
