Zack,
I forget how long have you had it setup? If it's 8-12 months old I would recommend a T. maxima because your tank is a bit small for a T. derasa or T. squamosa. Get one 3.5" - 4". I've had the best success with ones that size (100%). I would go with Clams Direct for the supplier. Get Barry to take a picture of the one you want from the front of the tank because they can look totaly different from the top (usually better looking but not always).

Regards,
Kevin

Zack, I've gotten clams from Barry numerous times and he knows exactly what he is doing packing and shipping wise. If you find a clam you like from him I would not hesitate to get it. Most of my 14 clams are from Barry anyway. They are so healthy and stay that way. HTH..

If you can keep your Ca and Alkalinity up, you should have no problem keeping clams. Clams direct, Eastcoast clams, and Dr. Mac are all great places to get clams.
Clams are very hardy if you can get their needs met included:
1. Good water condition with low phosphorous.
2. Good Ca and Alkalinity
3. Stable tank
4. Adequate lighting (you sould have no problem)
5. Obtain healthy clams
6. Feed smaller clams
7. Control clam parasites (parasitic snails)
8. Lack of fish or other animal that would bother clams in your tank
all the above are must have, but they are not very hard to obtain in most tank if you know what you are doing.

Clams are beautiful animals. You should keep Crocea and Maxima because ther others will get too big, very quickly, for you tank.

I got an ORA clam from Darren at Christmas time. My sis paid but I picked it out. I recently got an email from Darren saying he would be having a large selection of ORA clams, ORA sps frags, corals etc. I got this email this past weekend.

I would also vote www.ClamsDirect.com. Dr. Mac has a great reputation for quality stuff but I've looked at his website and some of his clams are very expensive and some that he sells as ultra maxima's would be sold as first grade by other vendors resulting in a comparable clam for way less money.
