i want to add a second clown to my 125 gal reef that has housed an A. ocellaris clown with a 12" magnifica anemone for about a year...
i understand that a lone clown will change into a female over time...i think... ...so mine is a female now?... so do i just find a smaller (1") clown to put in?...any concern of a battle?... thanks alot brad |

Ocellaris are pretty peaceful little clownfish, and if they did fight in a big tank like that they would have plenty of room to get away from each other. As long as your new clownfish is significantly smaller than the original everything will probably be fine. Just make sure to keep an eye out on the new comer for the first few days to make sure he's not getting beat up. It may take a week or so for her to accept him.

You should be fine as long as the new clown is bigger or smaller than the one you have. I just add a new ocelaris a month ago to join one I've had for 6 months. The new one was 2 times larger and dominated right away so no problems and now they are a happy couple.
