Frag Swap '03 Louisville, KY
After some consideration and planning, Michelle and I are going to organize and host a Reefland.com 2003 Frag Swap. This event will be held in Louisville, KY sometime in April or early May and will be open for anyone to come. The date has not been selected but it will be on a Saturday; the actual date will depend on what the majority of people can make. We will need 25 people to definately make it in order to have the event.
Food and drinks will be provided (depending on participation, we may have a small "cover charge") as well as plenty of space to float frags that anyone may bring. In addition, a friend will be placing a couple of orders just prior to the event to make sure plenty more corals are available. Mostly, the corals brought in for this event will be SPS (for us stick heads) but he will have some LPS and Soft Corals available as well. As well as the Frag Swap, we will also have some raffles, presentations and maybe a frag workshop. If you might be interested or think you can make this event, please reply to this thread or e-mail me at Frag Swap '03 I think this will be a ton of fun and an opportunity for internet friends to meet! |

I'll be there.
I sent a message to Dizzy over in Reefs.org forum. He owns Fishy Business in Bowling Green, Ky. This is a guy you all need to meet. He's had 2 articles featured in Aquarium Magazine. One for the first person in the US to successfully breed orage Starfish and also, he invented the rotaing aquarium. The Aquaruim article was featured on the front page of that month magazine and his article on the Starfish breeding was featured at the very front of another month issue. He's a pretty cool guy. |

How much is the aquatica reef owner going to have to do with the swap?
Do you know how many are coming yet? Do you need a list of what we have to swap? Mac |

Hi All!
Yeah the swap is just around the corner now. What I would suggest is posting some of your wish list and perhpas someone who is coming can help out.
As our tank is still very young, we won't have a lot to bring but will bring the following: M. Cap Yellow Digita Acro. spp. (peach in color) Maybe Yellow Porites There may be a couple more, not sure yet. As far as turn out, I suspect it will be between 25-30 throughout the 4 hours. It is surely to be a great time! Regards, Scott Z. |

I still haven't decided what to bring.
I know people are hot after Ricordia. I have 2 polyps that I will be bringing. My Acro. spp. (peach in color) isn'y quite ready yet. But I probably can take a frag to bring with me. Other than that. I may bring a Green Montipora Dig or a Brown Anacropora, maybe both. The Brown Anacropora is incredibly fragle right now. Even thou it broke off and woulda been about 4-5' now. I have 2 parts of him in 2' and a third one about 2/4 of an inch. I may bring him along instead. I'm hoping to snag a purple acro frag or an sweet purple, blue Staghorn. I love Aautic Reef. But, they never has the rare ones I want..lmao By next swap. i'll be ready...lol |

Hey Jeff!
I agree, it was a good time yesterday. Although the turn-out was not as great as I would have liked, over teh next several months we will have more gatherings which over time will bring larger crouds. I too picked up some nice frags; I got a tri-color from Terry; a decent size frag from John, another stag colony from Todd and a frag from the colony I was eye-balling all day from Todd (you remember which one?). It was nice meeting some fellow "stick-heads", making some friends and chatting about our hobby. ![]() Regards, Scott Z. |

I just wanted to say THANKS for all the hard work to get the
frag fest together. It was really great to be able to use Todd's store for the fest. It was nice to be able to bring the frags in and drop them in the tanks. Clean up went quickly too. If Todd is agreeable, we should try to hold this again. I think the turnout was good, could have been better. There were several people that did not show. That was okay with me. I got alot of nice frags. Thanks Scott, Jeff, Terry, Todd Scott, when you decide to frag those corals you have at home let me know Jonboy |

Thanks again to everyone who came out, for the disucssions, to share a soda and trade some frags. ![]() I'll be sure to let you know when I do some fragging John. ![]() Scott Z. |
