Help! :(
Hello All,
I am new to this site and this is my first post. I have a reef tank setup, and my water has just grown very cloudy. All me levels are OK (ie. Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonia, PH) but for some reason, all my hard corals, like my Brain, candy Cane etc are emmiting their white mucus, and are very closed up. Any ideas why this is happening? I have to say, I'm a bit nervous, as I have many other corals in the tank, and don't want my tank to crash. Does anyone know the reason behind this, and will let me know the best course of action. Thanks, Jim |

I would be geting ready for a water change pronto and put some carbon in a sump or power filter. I don't like the sound of it. Can you describe what exactly happened and the "mucus" thing on your LPS corals. Do you have any macro algae in the tank/refugium?Can you tell me what your last tests readings were? Also what is your alk and calcium lvels?

How long has your tank been up and running?
Hope you didn't jump in head first...too quick. Last edited by jeffsdesigns; 02-17-2003 at 01:59 AM. |

Stray currents can do that, especially if you have a fan or something and it falls into the water.....even a small cooling fan.
I'd run carbon and do a water change. - Elmo |
