live rock suppliers

Hi I am in the process of setting up my first reef tank and amlooking into live rock suppliers. most range about 4-5 dollars a pound with shipping, with claims that they are premium live rock from Pacific locations such as Fiji and Tonga. I am a little suspicious that the suppliers are just using these names as a marketing ploy, but anyhow I have found some of the stuff that claims to be from the caribbean and it is much cheaper. Does anyone have opinions on this rock? Will it be any less effective than the Fiji/Tonga rock? Just curious, I'm not looking to skimp on any portion of my reef setup but it would be nice if this cheaper rock will work as well. thanks in advance for any input.

I have always gotten great rock from www.FFexpress.com I get the uncured Fiji.

Another source for really fresh rock is www.livestockusa.org for $3.50/lb, but he only ships to your local airport.

Check out sponsor of this site Scubadude. The website is www.coralfragz.com and Rocky is very fair in his prices. I think the local rock is alot more dense then the Pacific rock from Fiji or Tonga. There is some other rock available on Rocky's site I think from Kaelini or something like that. Check him out

I get my live locally so I can pick what I want for $4-5 a lb if I buy 40+ lbs but if that is not a real optioin then I would probably go with FFE for thier walt smith 45lbs for $165 delived to your door for the best price or if price isnt the biggest thing then I would call www.coralfragz.com and get what you want.
