Hello All,
I have a 50g reef tank with 1 Cleaner shrip, 1 Fire shrimp, 3 turbo snails and a handful of Hermit Crabs. As far as fish, I have 1 Powder Blue Tang (about 2 1/2" in length), 1 Maroon Clown Fish & 1 regal tang. I was hoping to get some type of Trigger Fish that would be safe to my Corals, as well as my other sessile invertebrates. Does anyone have an idea of which type of Trigger I can get? I am also considering a Puffer if I can find a cool one that meets my needs. Does anyone know of anything that would work for me? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim |

Definetly dont want a puffer for any type of reef.
There are few triggers that do well in reefs but you will not be able to any shrimps as they would become food fast. From the way it sounds your tank is fairly full all ready with the 2 tangs that will get fairly big in time plus the maroon clowns get fairly decent sized also. |

Blue jaw triggers are reef safe. I have one and she is doing great in my 80 gallon. I have a cleaner shrimp in the tank also, and she has not bothered it or any other inhabitants.
The male blue jaw has the blue and also has yellow on his tail, very pretty! The female doesn't have the blue jaw, or the yellow, but she is pretty anyway. Your tank does sound pretty full, though. Good luck ![]()
