Mag drive on a waze maker?

I was thinking of hocking up a 2 mag 7's with spray bars on a waver turning them on and off every three minutes.
Would this be advisable or would the mag give in fairly fast under this tourture?
The tank does not have a sump or I would use some thing else.

I was using a Mag 950 for a short time on a wavemaker and they make a loud awful sound when starting so I discontinued it but I do have have it currently on a 6 hour cycle (simulating reversing tides) on an appliance timer. I've been running it this way for a little over 2 months now FWIW.

That is a good thought. I have a 80 and would place one at each end of the tank with a spray bar and have them come on and off every 6 hours with a MJ or 2 in the middle.
Now just figure out how to mount them inside the tank. Think I will have a couple of acrylic hangers made.

Thanks

Tendar,

These pumps are heavy so you'll have to be creative in mounting them. I actually mounted mine outside on top of the tank with a strainer going into the tank and for the output I'm using PVC tubes and fittings. Of course I'm using an acrylic tank with drilled holes for the input and output on the top cover.

I outfitted it with a spare gate valve to prime the pump by none other than sucking LOL out the air and then closing the valve. This is a temporary rig so it doesn't at all look nice but is very functional.
