Jon- sorry to hear about your misfortune with the tank. First thing you should do is test everything and post your results if you can. The reason for your corals being closed could be caused from something other than the salinity, but it's probably unlikely. We just want to make sure we rule out everything and that we know the salinity is, in fact, the problem we should be troubleshooting. Also, tell us what the temperature is in the tank, since that goes hand in hand with salinity. How quickly did you drop the tank back to 1.025 from 1.030? rapid changes in salinity are never a good idea. Don't worry though, I understand you probably got the reading of 1.030 and freaked out and wanted to bring it back down into normal range. Usually this type of thing will affect your inverts first... like crabs and snails. I think the fish should be fine. Corals should probably be ok too, but like you said, just keep an eye on em. The damage is done, so there's not much else you can do right now. Hope your day gets better.![]()

i saw red marks on him last night and i told myself if he lived the night itd be amazing.....i added a gallon every hour to try and keep from making a huge change but.....2 six point changes in a 30hr span is rough on them i know.....everyone else looks good. today my aleveopora and hammer/frogspawns are looking a little bit more perky....and the lights have only been on for an hour so i think we are back to business....xenia looks like crap still
