VHO lighting ?
I didn't get much of an opinion on another board, so here goes. Right now I am running 3 Aqua Suns and 2 Super Actinics over my 125 for a total of 740 watts. My question is do you think I could replace one of my actinics with another Aqua Sun or maybe a 50/50 and still be satisfied with the color? Do you think one actinic would be pleasing enough to the eye and corals? Thanks

aren't the aqua sun bulbs kinda pinkish?
I always ran actinic white and the 03's which gave a very pleasing color and the corals seemed pretty happy... it sounds like a matter of preference but remember the blues have a much lower PAR for a given wattage... |

I also run the actinic/white and actinic bulbs because the Aquasun bulbs look too pink for me. It's really a matter of personal preference. If your corals are doing fine under your current lighting they will continue to do fine if you switch a bulb or two.

The aqua suns do look a little brighter. I like to run one aqua in my setups with some 50/50 and actinics.
I think 4 aqua suns and 1 actinic would really loose alot of color. I think you would best off staying with 2 super actinics. |

Thanks for the replies! Yeah that is kinda what I was thinking, but was interested in others opinions before I spent the money on a new bulb.
