Update on my "magically appearing" reef

    Hi again!

Well, things are going good now. I added two powerheads, more live rock and changed the lighting to 36w 10,000k daylight/15w NO actinic. It's amazing how fast this tank is cycling (or at least appears to be). The ammonia peaked on the first day, the 'trites peaked on sunday and are now undetectable. Today I added 5 astria snails and brought the clowns home (they are yellow stripe maroons I've learned). In spite of the unexpected startup I'm pretty happy with it.

    Here's what we have...

They're the mini-jet 404's. They come free in the 5g buckets of instant ocean.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a 10. The thermometer gives an idea of scale. Speaking of thermometers, I'm having heat problems. Gonna have to elevate the lights and get a fan blowing across the surface...

Looks good for a 10 gallon so far. Just to let you know the gold stripe marron clowns can grow up to 5" which is pretty big for a 10 and can get pretty aggressive as they get bigger.

Yep, I've got a 55g FOW(uncured)LR as well that I can move them to when they out grow the 10. I've got a domino in there (the 55)... so these clowns better be pretty aggressive!

I really, really want a picasso trigger for the 55... even if I have to get rid of it someday or setup a 135g just for him. Think the clowns will do ok with one?
