Cool how long do you have your lights on? in tank?in fuge? breaking in a new tank.

How many hours actinic? reg? also do you keep your fuge light on 24/7 or just opposite the tank? How slow do you break in a new system. its been a while for me. Don't you start with 1 hour and work up to 8? Refresh please;)

    Hey Caesar Augustus!

A good start would be to run your actinics for 1 hour before and 1 hour after the rest of the lights. If you go for a twelve hour cycle, your actinics would be on twelve hours and the rest of your lights for 10.

    Refreshed.

I agree. Kick on the VHO 1 hr. before and after the MH. I will also put my vote in for a 24 hr. refugium cycle.

oops, forgot about the refugium. I don;t think it matters if you go 24hour or 12hour reverse. Some say the 24hour cycle may provide an environment where Caulerpas are less likely to go "sexual".

Scott, are you saying that a 24/7 fuge light will actually keep Caulerpa from growing so fast?
