Very interesting colors and patterns. Nice Cirrhilabrus scottorum, too!

I think you're supposed to call it the country formerly known as Palau. I believe they want to be known as the Republic of Belau now.

Yeah me too, the orange patterned one is pretty radical as well! Congratulations on the true finds Barry! Some people have all the luck.

Like the orange one. Is that maybe just a variation of Maxima gold?

Minh,

You are always welcome to come with.

This is going to be a educational trip as also a business trip tied into one. Sounds like a write off to me.

WOW!

Those are all great shots. I like the Scott's fairy wrasse/clam shot myself. I'm sure you will learn a TON and have a fabulous trip, Barry.

Wear cargo pants with REALLY BIG pockets (lol)!

What a surprise!!

Thanks Barry!! I was just checking out the boards and saw these pics.

We were in Palau (and you are right Ninong, it is technically Belau but they call themselves Palauans...go figure...nice people too) on a scuba trip and made it by their mariculture facility. It was very interesting. I brought these guys, and a couple of others, back as carry on luggage! Can you believe they wouldn't let me take their 7 inch Black Max out of their breeding tank? A much better souvenier than a T-shirt.

We saw many cool clams while diving but wild collection is strictly forbidden. We saw Gigas that must have been 3-4 feet long and huge Derasa that were brilliant green or blue.

The coolest fish we saw were Harlequin Anthias that can only be found in one part of Palau. They are a beautiful blue and pink with irregular markings.

That wrasse in the picture is really nice, but it is not a Scott's, its a Red Marginned Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubrimarginatus). I've had mine quite a while and I love it, but a store here in Houston just got in 3 that make mine look 2nd rate!

Minh, I know you don't want to sell your beautiful Ritteri clones, but if you want to talk about a trade for a clam, let me know!

Thanks all,

Mark

Mark,

Thanks for the vidio as well. Will use it in some of my presentations.

Now if the wife will let you do a turn around, we are leaving on June 15. Excited as well

Barry
