Update on Outdoor Frag System

Hey Guys,

These photos were taken on May 12. I reorganized and fragged out a bunch of new things this past weekend. Current frag count is about 400 frags.

I also now have about 10 mother colonies out in the sun as well.

I added a lrg maxima and two small (3") ultra crocea clams, to see how they do in the sun.

Looking very nice my friend! Are you just getting in wild coloies and fragging them out? I'd love to have 400 frags right now!

Road Trips for Frags

Hey guys,

On July 13th, I am opening my back yard for an open Frag Swap. Last time we did this we had almost 100 people come. Everyone had a great time, and I didn't even sell any frags (wasn't offerring them for sale).

So this time I bet we have an even larger turnout.... Might be ideal timing for some of you up North to head down for the weekend. And we can follow-it up with a Monday morning trip to the LAX wholesalers.

Darn, I'll be on vacation that day I'll have to miss it. Any chance of having another swap sometime soon after late August/early september?

Take care Dave,
Graham

P.S. How's the Heliopora Coerulea (Blue Ridge) and green Bottle brush acro's doing?

P.S.S. That bright "white" millepora is turning a really nice yellow. The polyps are turning brownish/Yellowish. I'm also getting some slight growth on it Here's the coral now

Graham,

The Blue ridge is doing okay. I am not sure where the bottle brushes ended up. I think one of them might actually be in my display tank, but I am having a problem keeping greens .

That's great about your mille. I have one piece that is now almost orange, and seems to be doing well.

Scuba,

I have a colony of birdsnest which had gone almost white and is now coming back to a rust color. I have a small piece of red which is holding it's color well in the sunlight. In the photo labelled upper tank you can see a row of the birdsnest that I have.

Most of the colors are doing well. But none of the dark colors are holding, and no bright greens. I may be adding a glass shield over one part of the tank this week as an experiment to see if the UV-s are too strong.
