If I catch some of those little clams at the beach,are they safe? |

I'm heading for the coast soon and I always fine those little clams in shallow water, would they ok to put in a reef tank? I realize that wild hermits are cold blooded killers but no fellow reefer has ever mentioned these little clam guys. I suppose they would probably get pretty big though, just a thought.

As a general precaution any addition to the tank can bring bacteria,dis,ect.. Quarantine is your best defense to keep you tank safe. But who knows what your divers,trans shippers ,wholesalers,retailers did with the stock you have now?? You or the other guys can bring the nasties in. Quarantine is the key word.
