My tank is starting to look better, I think

My experience with favids is basically the same as yours, I have two favia corals and both do not produce sweepers any longer. Although they did upon introduction but stopped later on.

I have no problem fitting 180g or even larger tank in that room as long as it is not more than 24" front to back. Otherwise it just takes way too much room to be comfortable in there.
Anyway, everything is still in the planning stage at the moment. I am pricing some stuff that I will need for the future tank and planning on doing some elecrtical work for it as well. Thank god my friend is a brilliant electrician and computer wiz as well.
I will be leaving for Christmas holiday around 21-22nd and come back after the New Year;s. I then will start doing the chores that wifey requested and then proceed with the tank. I hope!

I put some live sand yesterday and decided to take a picture of how tank looks now. You may ask why I added more sand? Well, the problem was is that I ordered some live sand couple of years back from TBA and it was too large in grain size but I added it anyway...Big mistake.
If you look at the full tank picture you can see how ugly grey color that sand bed was. It had plenty of life in it but was just too ugly to look at.
Anyway, I added about 5 lb of new sand it seems like I can add another 10lb to complete the job.

Anywho, here's the picture of how different tank looks.

And one other change.., my A.florida has reached the front glass and it became painfully difficult to clean the front glass. So yesterday I cut couple of branches that were millimeters away from the glass and also halved my E.ancora coral that was under it. I can now clean the glass without bumping into the corals and ending up fishing magnets from the sand bed.
