Question Which of these sands is the correct grain size ??

Hi,

Out of these sands.......

CAS ARAG POW Aragamight Calcium Powder £14.99
CAS ARAG SAND Aragamax Sand 30lb £29.99
CAS REEF SAND Sea Floor Pink Reef Sand 18lb £28
CAS CRU CORAL Florida Crushed Coral 20lb £23.99

Which would be the correct size for a DSB or refuge ?
I assume they are available in the USA ?

Casco - Aragamax Sand

Atkins,

Based on your descriptions...

There are two different “sugar sized sands”

“CAS ARAG SAND Aragamax Sand 30lb £29.99”

You want product #930 which has more of the desirable fine particles.

Product #932 is good when used with the ESV product, but if you are using the CaribSea product exclusively, the #930 product is superior.

Regards,

Scott

Marc ~

Since no one else has commented on this, I just want to mention that "CAS ARAG POW Aragamight Calcium Powder £14.99" is not sand, it is an additive.

Atkins.

Here is the URL for CaribSea: http://www.carib-sea.com/Carib1.htm

They discuss the sand in terms of particle size, but no close-up pictures.

Scott

Question

Hi again,

Next question is who supplies caribsea with this stuff ? Do i understand right that the HD play sand is the same but a fraction of the price ?

Can you tell me the product code of the HD sand and if if HD has a mail addy in the US.
What i want to do is find the supplier and see if they deal with any of the european DIY outlets..........obviously i'll need the codes etc so i can query this .
