I have been hearing different things lately. So, I was wondering what my Reefland buddies do?

Once a day. Sometimes give them a midday snack.

I feed them 3 to 4 times a day. Just a little each time. It's more natural for fish to eat many times during the day.
On some species, feeding more than once a day also lowers aggression (not only at feeding time). I'm not talking about overfeeding, but about feeding less, more often Joaco ------------------ My webpage Updated 28th February 2001 |

I like to try and feed 2-3 times a day, and I know im overfeeding right now but I skim heavy (Im trying to get my fauna built back up) I know it will probably take me a while till i get my feeding regimine down to a pat. I will agree w/what joaco stated feed little but do it often.

I feed at least twice a day and sometimes as many as five times a day. The norm is around 3X daily. Like Joaco, I feed them small amounts that they eagerly consume. I also place a full nori sheet every other day in the tank for the algae grazers. It never makes it through the day/night, however.

I feed once in the morning usually Spiruliniaallalala (?)flakes, once in the evening when I get home usually frozen brine shrimp, then once at night just before the lights go out usually flakes. I read that fish have small digestive tracts and it's better to feed small amounts often so as not to cause them a tummy ache.

I am home all day...so I feed 3-5 times a day...little bits. They always get something different...Flakes,Mysis(gut loaded),F.Brine(gut loaded),Frozen Formulas,Blackworms( I grow these, gut loaded),snails(grow these),Ghost shrimp,Bloodworms(gut loaded),Krill, cocktail shrimp,Nori. I also have a HUGE ball of Hair algae in a tank downstairs with millions of pods growing there...I bring it up and shake it in my reef reguraly...everyone loves this treat.

A small amount of spirulina flakes and sinking pellets twice a day, fresh meat (clam, mussel, or shrimp) twice a week, fresh greens (usually broccoli) twice a week.

A small amount once per day (6PM). Sometimes every other day, like when on vacation. Fish are 3 years old. I have read that fish really don't eat in the natural as much as we hobbist feed them. This probably accounts for most of the algae and water quality problems we experience. I stopped feeding my tang nori and other greens over a year ago and he has grown and is doing fine with what little algae grows in the tank. I keep an eye out and if I ever see any signs of "pinching" or other signs that the fish are not getting enough food naturally (plus my one feeding) I will feed more. I don't think that is going to happen though. The Live Rock is providing plenty of food as well as the cleaner shrimp with their offspring once ever couple of weeks. I have a adult RSea SF Tang, adult Clark clown, 6 line wrasse, Royal Gramma and 2 fire gobies plus all of the other inverts.
